Use this procedure to ask for a change to author details or to withdraw a submitted manuscript.

Before peer review starts

The corresponding author may withdraw the manuscript by writing to the editor. Withdrawal is confirmed by email.

During review or after acceptance

Withdrawal needs a written request signed by all authors, giving the reason. It takes effect only when the editor approves it. Repeated late withdrawals may lead the journal to decline future submissions.

Changes to authorship

Adding, removing or reordering authors after submission requires the written agreement of every author and the editor’s approval.

After publication

Published articles are part of the scholarly record and are not withdrawn. Errors are handled through a correction or, in serious cases, a retraction under the publication ethics policy.
