Generative AI Policy
Rules on the use of ChatGPT and other generative AI tools by authors, reviewers and editors.
Last reviewed: October 2026 · AIJAMAY · ISSN 3048-9822 (Online)
For authors
- Disclose any use of generative AI in preparing the article beyond basic language correction, editing and formatting.
- Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality and integrity of all content, including anything produced with AI tools.
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors, because they cannot take responsibility for the work.
- Generative AI cannot be cited as a source of facts or ideas.
- AI-generated images, data or results are not accepted unless the AI use is part of the research method and is fully described.
Sample disclosure (place before the references): “During the preparation of this work the authors used [tool, version] to [purpose]. After using this tool the authors reviewed and edited the content and take full responsibility for the publication.”
For reviewers
- Do not upload manuscripts, or any part of them, to generative AI tools – this breaches confidentiality.
- Do not use generative AI to write or evaluate review reports. Assessments must be your own.
- Simple language polishing of your own report is acceptable if disclosed to the editor.
For editors and the journal
- Editors follow the same confidentiality rules as reviewers.
- The journal’s routine use of automated tools – currently text-similarity checking – is disclosed here.
- Every automated flag (similarity, image or AI-use concerns) is verified by an editor before any action is taken.
Hidden prompts and manipulation
Inserting hidden text or instructions intended to influence AI-assisted review is research misconduct and will be handled under the publication ethics policy.
