Astrological Analysis of the 6th and 10th Houses in the Horoscopes of Marine Engineering Students: An Observational Study
V. Manoharan Ph.D. Research, Astrology — Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS) India , Dr. C. Ananthi Ph.D. Research, Astrology — Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies (VISTAS) IndiaThis study analyzes the sixth and tenth houses in the horoscopes of marine engineering students. A sample of fifty horoscopes was selected for the present observational study. The sixth house is examined with reference to service, discipline, competition, and practical work, while the tenth house is analyzed in relation to profession, career, responsibility, and occupational activities. Planetary positions, house lords, aspects, and the relationship between the sixth and tenth houses are studied in each chart. The study aims to identify recurring astrological patterns associated with marine engineering education and professional orientation, and it finds that all fifty horoscopes satisfy at least four of six predefined astrological rules, suggesting a consistent pattern linking sixth- and tenth-house strength to this technical career path.

0 Abstract views 0 DownloadsPanchakosha Theory and Yoga for Lifestyle Disease Prevention: A Conceptual Framework for Contemporary Health Management
Dr. Awadhesh Kumar Shukla Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, Digvijai Nath Post Graduate College, Civil Lines, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India IndiaLifestyle diseases have emerged as a major challenge to contemporary health and public health systems. Inactivity, sedentary behaviour, unhealthy dietary practices, psychological stress, inadequate sleep, and changing patterns of daily living have contributed to increasing risk of obesity, hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases and other non-communicable diseases. Although contemporary health management has traditionally emphasized physiological risk factors and clinical treatment, lifestyle diseases are influenced by interconnected physical, physiological, psychological, cognitive, behavioural and experiential dimensions of human life.
The Panchakosha theory, described in the Taittiriya Upanishad, provides a traditional Indian perspective of human existence through five interconnected dimensions: Annamaya Kosha, Pranamaya Kosha, Manomaya Kosha, Vijnanamaya Kosha and Anandamaya Kosha. Yoga encompassing practices such as asana, pranayama, meditation, relaxation, self-awareness, and lifestyle discipline, may be conceptually associated with these dimensions. The present conceptual paper examines the relevance of Panchakosha theory and yoga to lifestyle disease prevention and contemporary health management.
Annamaya Kosha is considered in relation to physical health and lifestyle behavior; Pranamaya Kosha in relation to breathing and physiological regulation; Manomaya Kosha in relation to psychological and emotional balance; Vijnanamaya Kosha in relation to health awareness and self-regulation; and Anandamaya in relation to well-being and positive health. The paper argues that lifestyle disease prevention may be understood more comprehensively when physical health is considered together with psychological balance, behavioral awareness, self-regulation and well-being. Panchakosha theory therefore offers a culturally grounded conceptual perspective through which yoga can be viewed as part of a multidimensional approach to contemporary health promotion and lifestyle disease prevention.

15-230 Abstract views 0 DownloadsEffects of an Integrated Yoga and Yoga Nidra Intervention on Heart Rate Variability and Autonomic Function in School-Aged Children: An Experimental Study
Revathi Dama Ph.D. Scholar, Vedic Wellness University, Orlando, FL 32801, United States. United States , Dr. Larry Seidlitz Ph.D. Guide, Vedic Wellness University, Orlando, FL 32801, United States. United StatesBackground: Heart rate variability (HRV) is a reliable, non-invasive biomarker of cardiac autonomic regulation. While evidence supports yogic practices in modulating autonomic function in adults, pediatric research remains limited. Objective: This study investigated the acute effects of an integrated yogic intervention—comprising Bhramari Pranayama, Adi Mudra, Navasana, and Yoga Nidra—on 16 comprehensive HRV metrics in school-aged children (ages 8–12 years). Methods: 82 students from Auroville, Tamil Nadu, India were randomly allocated into intervention (n = 41) and control (n = 41) groups. HRV was continuously recorded across three phases: Pre (3 min), During Yoga Nidra (20 min), and Post (3 min). The same 41 responders were identified by LF/HF ratio reduction. Sixteen HRV metrics were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA with Bonferroni-corrected pairwise comparisons. Results: Significant omnibus effects were observed for RMSSD (F = 3.38, p = .037, η² = .053), PNS Index (F = 3.18, p = .045, η² = .050), SNS Index (F = 4.03, p = .020, η² = .063), Stress Index (F = 3.98, p = .021, η² = .062), and SD1 (F = 3.33, p = .039, η² = .053). Pre-to-Post comparisons revealed significant enhancements in parasympathetic markers (RMSSD: d = −0.44; PNS Index: d = −0.42; pNN50: d = −0.51) and significant reductions in sympathetic markers (SNS Index: d = 0.52; Stress Index: d = 0.53). Conclusion: The integrated yogic intervention produced statistically significant and clinically meaningful shifts toward parasympathetic dominance in school-aged children.
